Hi - My name is Stan, my Wife name is Glynnis, together we started making musical instruments about twenty eight years ago . I concentrate mostly on stringed instruments, While my wife looks after the smaller instruments
Imake mostly Celtic style instruments - Irish Bouzouki, Modern Cittern
At the moment I am heavy into Ukuleles ( mainly the Tenor and Baritone)
I believe that function should be paramount when creating an instrument. My designs combine classic lines with emphases on fit and finish. Each one of my builds is handcrafted from square one. No two are exactly the same. From hand selecting unique pieces of wood to buffing out the final finish, there are no shortcuts. I treat each one of my builds as though it might be the last guitar I may ever make.
I create highly resonant semi-hollowbody guitars and am the keeper and current builder of R.C. Allen's laminated archtop guitars. I also build somewhat traditional acoustic and solid body guitars as well as semi-hollowbody basses. When possible I use salvaged old growth wood, especially redwood as it's abundant here. Each instrument is custom built for a client although I tend to have a few in stock for sale at any one time.
